C.W. Matthews has two asphalt terminals. Bright Star Energy Inc., is the asphalt trading company for C.W. Matthews. The terminal pictured is the Rockmart, Georgia terminal. This facility has a storage capacity of 391,000 barrels and is serviced by Norfolk-Southern RR and CSX RR. The rail siding has a capacity to unload 20 cars at a time at 2,000 gpm. All tanks at this facility have the capability to blend materials. Georgia is primarily a 67-22 spec state, but we manufacture that grade from different materials such as other PG grades, 0-10 PEN, 150 PEN, etc. to blend on spec product. We have a PMA plant at this facility to produce our own 76-22.
Our other asphalt terminal is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee on the Tennessee River and can accommodate barge cargo along with four (4) rail unloading spots. The capacity of this terminal is approximately 110,000 barrels. This terminal primarily accepts only 67-22 material due to the inability to blend; however, 64-22 is potentially acceptable.
